    About the Book

    Edit

    Dear Reader,

Between the cardboard covers of this book is the story that shaped my life in its entirety. Perhaps you could call it a brief synopsis of the last 3 months, but in this case, the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts. It’s really much more than that.

I never planned on leaving my house in the middle of the night when I was just a child, but then again, no one really does. When you join MI5, I guess you come to the realization that your life is an exception. I guess that no one with a normal life would ever experience many of the events described in this book. Normal is a funny word though. It implies that nothing out of the ordinary happens to you, but then that begs the question: What is ordinary? My life is the perfect example of why perhaps the words normal and ordinary should not exist.

    Sincerely,

    Oliver Chrysanthemum Shrubert

    The Creative Youth Collective
    Woodside, CA, USA

The Creative Youth Collective is a bespoke creative writing and photography mentorship experience for exceptionally curious and creative t(w)eens who are ready to engage in the entire creative process, from idea generation to publishing their own book. Whether your creative kid has so many ideas that they don't know where to start, or they’ve been developing their favorite character, series, or art practice for years, the Creative Youth Collective provides all the support they need to consistently and confidently realize and share their stories and take their creativity to the next level. We champion youth activism through the creative process. Our young authors have the opportunity to sell their books and donate royalties to organizations that create the changes they want to see in the world. By the end of spring 2024, we’ll have published over 15 books by artists and writers between the ages of 10-18. We’d be honored to help your creative t(w)een publish theirs, too.
